The Miovision Automated Video Traffic Studies solution consists of Video Collection Units that provide digital video, and patent-pending Video Analytics software that automatically extracts traffic data from the collected video. The solution is an end-to-end traffic collection replacement for use in the following types of study:
- Intersections: Turning Movement Counts, including U-turn and pedestrian analysis. The solution was designed to be used for small to large (e.g. single lane to multilane) intersections in all weather conditions.
- Roundabouts: For the first time, collectors can get accurate, verifiable data from roundabouts - without deploying 2 or 3 counters or interfering with traffic flow.

Improved safety for data collectors
Because the solution does not require data collectors to be present for the duration of the study, there is a decreased risk of collectors being in harm's way and also reduced total travel time. For certain types of studies (e.g. using road tubes for a highway count), there is significant danger to the collectors as they deploy the equipment. The Miovision solution can be deployed several yards from an intersection or road, meaning that data collectors are less exposed to the risks associated with busy junctions.
In some cases, the decreased travel time and lower exposure of data collectors allows data collection agencies to reduce their insurance costs as well.
Online analysis interface
Once your video is collected, you upload it from any Internet-connected computer and the Miovision servers will analyze it and send you (or whoever you specify) an email when your results are ready.
