American Structurepoint Roundabouts and Data Collection Webinar

In May, multi-disciplinary engineering firm American Structurepoint joined Miovision for a co-hosted webinar about roundabout data collection. The webinar was based on the whitepaper, “Traffic Counting at Roundabouts Using Video Technology: A Practitioner’s View” and a poster presented at the 3rd International Conference on Roundabouts of the same name. The whitepaper provides a general background and evaluation of using video for data collection at roundabouts, including the authors’ experience in performing various counts at roundabouts in Indiana.

American Structurepoint is well known for their expertise in roundabout designs seen primarily throughout the states of Indiana and Ohio. The authors, Jeromy Grenard, PTOE and Ting Wei, PE, PTOE, AICP have a collective 19 years of experience with traffic engineering and roundabout design and analysis on over 100 roundabouts in the US.

American Stucturepoint has been using Miovision to collect data at roundabouts for over two years and recently wrote this whitepaper, then agreed to present the content in this webinar.

Jeromy Grenard, PE, PTOE Traffic Services Manager, American Structurepoint Jeromy Grenard is a registered professional engineer in Indiana, Illinois with over 11 years of experience working with all forms of traffic studies, traffic signal design, roundabout design and analysis. He has worked on over 100 roundabouts ranging from low-volume single-lane intersections to high-volume complex multi-lane layouts with 3-lane entries.

Ting Wei, PE, PTOE, AICP Transportation Engineer and Planner, American Structurepoint During his tenure at American Structurepoint, Ting Wei has been deeply involved in transportation planning, traffic engineering, and roadway design. One of his specialties is roundabout study. Ting has performed numerous roundabout studies covering data collection, capacity analysis, safety evaluation, geometric layout, traffic simulation, and design visualization.
