Miovision Wins Ontario Centre of Excellence Mind to Market Award

KITCHENER, ONTARIO – Oct. 22, 2010 – Miovision Technologies, along with the University of Waterloo, has won the Ontario Centres of Excellence’s (OCE) 2010 Mind to Market Award.  Miovision creates intelligent solutions to address the challenges facing today’s global transportation network.

The company creates innovative hardware and software products that help to reduce traffic congestion, minimize environmental impacts and improve the overall safety of our roadways. The idea that began in a University of Waterloo research lab as a Master’s thesis has now grown into a company with customers in 19 countries on 5 continents across the globe.

In recent months, Miovision has expanded their service offering two times over to help their customers achieve more and spend less.  The company’s business model is focused on maximizing the potential for their products by continually evolving their software to suit more of their customer’s needs.

The award was presented as part of the OCE’s annual general meeting held in Toronto.

The Mind to Market Award honours and celebrates the best Ontario Centres of Excellence supported research collaboration, between the business and research communities, resulting in effective commercialization of leading edge ideas and solutions.  Award recipients exemplify the innovation that is possible when the brightest minds in industry and academia collaborate to address today’s most critical issues.
