Company Timeline

In 2005, Miovision set out to create a Video Collection Unit and accompanying software that would revolutionize the way traffic data was collected. Founded by three Systems Design graduates from the University of Waterloo, Miovision has grown exponentially over the past five years.

Like many other high-tech start-ups, Miovision began in a basement driven by an idea. We moved to the Accelerator Centre in the UW Research and Technology Park in 2006, where we took advantage of the many benefits provided by the Accelerator program. In 2008, we began selling our traffic data collection system and successfully took on our first customers.

As our customer base grew, so did our staff size. We quickly outgrew the space at the Accelerator Centre and moved to our own facility on Otonabee Drive in Kitchener.

We have been fortunate to continually expand both our customer base and our staff size year over year, and we have no intention of slowing down. With the help of talented employees and progressive customers, we want to continually improve traffic systems worldwide and emerge as an effective solution to daily traffic challenges.
